The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A representative for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of questionable actions involving female individuals.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

He has published in excess of 40 works in total, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
