LA Explodes in Celebration as Dodgers Claim Second World Series Championship
The City of Angels experienced citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-game World Series championship. Supporters worldwide united with local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Massive Turnout
Los Angeles area events included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.
Online footage depict thousands of Los Angeles residents packing downtown streets, many displaying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy proudly.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to do this,” the star player remarked through an interpreter.
The parade route ended at Dodger Stadium, where the players emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the field.

Festivities started prior to the procession, with supporters lighting fireworks in the roads of the city center on the previous evening.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke directly about the win.
“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto stated. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”
Mixed Reactions and Community Spirit
However, Mark Walter received a cooler welcome at the rally. Recordings from the gathering seem to depict him walking onstage to a combination of applause and boos, with negative shouts interrupting his speech.
The World Series acted as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, fans this year showed as much if not more support.
“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a involved in this.”
