Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the US has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have shot down missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.

It said wreckage landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
