Barcelona to Host First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio OlĂmpic LluĂs Companys.
