On Monday, the tribunal learned communication data and data obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout the past two years.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most widely reported investigations and remains unresolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

One phone message, played in court, recorded Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm fat and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I feel."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What then? Isn't that important for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I just want to discover," the message continued.

The tribunal was told that by means of electronic messages, SMS messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a bid to show a similarity to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a youth with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an intelligence analyst with law enforcement who collated the evidence, advised the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, the father picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "a wrong number."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt deposited a recording on Mrs McCann's recording declaring "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my position."

The court was informed the co-defendant developed a connection via internet with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a visit to the McCanns' home in that area in last December.

Phone records showed Mrs Spragg had communicated using WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to state the news outlets had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be treated respectfully in the time before the trip to Rothley, the county, in last December.

The court heard correspondence between the two defendants, in that autumn, planning trying to obtain Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from utensils at a eating establishment.

"We need to assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the appearance to their home, Mrs Spragg transmitted a message which expressed: "We find ourselves positioned adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our lights out resembling private investigators. I desired to achieve this with another person I didn't imagine I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The trial proceeds.
